The History of Racism

Bob

Racism is a deeply ingrained and pervasive social issue characterized by prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed towards individuals or groups based on their racial or ethnic background. It operates on the belief in the inherent superiority of one race over others, perpetuating stereotypes, biases, and systemic inequalities that marginalize and oppress racial minorities. Racism can manifest in various forms, including overt acts of hatred and bigotry and more subtle, systemic structures that disadvantage certain racial groups in areas such as education, employment, healthcare, and criminal justice. Its insidious nature has profound and enduring consequences, undermining social cohesion and justice while perpetuating cycles of inequality and injustice. Addressing racism requires a collective commitment to education, awareness, and social change to build a more inclusive and equitable society.
